Internal Traffic Committee Minutes 02/27/04
The Internal Traffic Committee met in the Selectmen’s Hearing Room at 78 Main Street, Hudson, Massachusetts.  At 10:00 the Committee called the meeting to order.
Present: Chief Richard Braga, Chief Fred Dusseault, DPW Director Tony Marques, and Building Inspector Jeff Wood
Discussion:      Crosswalk

Mr. Marques reviewed the site.  A crosswalk is not viable at this site.  There is no sidewalk in this area, and it is clearly not meant for pedestrians.

Hillside Retirement Community

Zina Road
Present: Steve Poole

Mr. Poole presented the plans to the Committee.  Proposed is an 8-lot subdivision with associated roadway

DPW
Mr. Marques noted that there is no water directly in front of the site, for 450-500 feet in either direction. The applicant will need to extend the water main.
Hydrant in middle of roadway and hydrant at end.
Drainage: detention basin location is on two separate parcels.
Basin mostly wetlands
Need easement until the end of the pipe, which should not be adjacent to the wetlands anyway
Will not approve waiver for sidewalk.
Show streetlighting.  Must meet with light and power.
Need regular granite as opposed to slope granite.  Vertical on radiuses as well.
Gas location must be checked, as appears to be incorrect.

Police
Road dim is acceptable, all concerns addressed.

Fire
Page 4, shows parcel A-2, and on other pages it’s called A-1.
Barn may be tied into lot.
Each residence should be considered for domestic fire sprinklers. Adds value to house and they work.

Inpsections:
A1 should be clarified.
Septic on Lot 3 is encroaching into the hundred year flood plain, and is very close to the easement line.  Should be located to side instead.
Remove plus or minuses.
Driveway of lot 6 encroaches on Lot 5 would require an easement or readjustment.
Square footage and frontage meets requirements.

ITC reminded Steve of 2 weeks prior submission policy.
